The container house is a farm house designed for a builder based in Ahmadabad. The client wanted a semi open party house. The location is a farm 20 kilometers from Ahmadabad in a village called racheda. The site is a huge 70000 sq feet landscaped farm in which the house is supposed to be built.
The house is built around 4 shipping containers procured from the scrap. The containers are cantilevered out from a central spine made out of concrete. The central spine also contains the utilities and semi enclosed spaces. The containers mainly contain the bedrooms and the kitchen..
The total built up area of the house is 300 sq meters. the design team consisted of me and a friend of mine. The project is still in the concept phase and will be realized soon.
