This was a design competition for which 7 firms including burt hill were invited. The project is a sports complex which is a part of a township called lavasa in pune. The project is located on a contoured site with a stream running through the center of the site.
Burt hill submitted 3 options including the one here.The idea behind this option was to make the built form follow the contour as far as possible and mantain a low profile. The built program in this complex was comparatively less than the unbuilt program. The rest of the site was cut and filed to accommodate the playing courts.. The built program mainly consisted of the indoor courts and administrative functions.
The pathways in the landscape also follow the jagged ness of the contours and bind the built and unbuilt together. The design team consisted of 3 architects.. My role in this competition was working out the plan, designing the built form and modeling it and rendering it in 3d.. The landscaping was done by the rest of the team.
