The concept of multiplicity made us think about a product which is flexible enough to perform different functions. ‘The Caterpillar’ resulted as the design to accommodate various usages. The simple folds made the idea more clear and workable. The Caterpillar is made of three folds which can be composed in various forms of furniture like a chair, coffee table, lounge chair, pool chair, bed, seat and a desk. Stainless steel gives it a sleek look and elegant finish. The self locking clutch encased within the joints makes all composition possible by locking the folds at any point. The seat is made of 50mm thick NEOPRENE which gives it a desired look. It is divided in to three parts and is removable. This gives it the flexibility to fix it on the folds according to the composition of the caterpillar.
The caterpillar can be disassembled on to its basic components for ease of transport.
